Greetings
again from Nashville's Oat Central...
the home of countless
adventures,
good times and a lot of great music. 63
days until Spring!
Just
a reminder: our acclaimed monthly Oat Songwriter
Showcase
is held
on the
second Wednesday of
each month. "The Oatcase" is
held
at Nashville's Commodore Grille. and is now in its eighth year.
Comin'
up Wednesday, February 8th: Garry Jackson
& Todd Elgin.
Speaking
of Garry, he
has just returned to Tennessee after spending a
few
months up in Canada. He'll be continuing work on his upcoming
Wild
Oats Records CD, due for release in Spring 2012. Steve
Haggard
is producing,
Andrew
Hooker is engineering.
Steve
and Andrew have
just finished an album project for the Swedish
band,
Roger
Westblom & The In-Laws. The group was
here in Music
City
recently to record. The album is called Back To Nashville.
And the
always-busy Mr. Haggard
has begun work on his next CD,
set
for
release in May 2012.
Look for a single in early March.
Both
Steve
Haggard and Garry
Jackson will be performing at the
Belfast
Nashville Songwriter Festival in Northern
Ireland at the end
of February...
along with Nanci Griffith, Clint Black and others.
Meanwhile,
our next Oat sampler CD
is due any week now. Among
the
artists will be excellent Arkansas singer/songwriter Ashlee
Choate.
What's
comin' up in
the future, you ask? (Okay, you didn't actually
ask...
but we'll tell you anyway.) As always, we have a whole bunch
of irons
in the fire. There are a couple of European
tours in the works;
a new
CD release from Kimberly King;
the long-awaited live CD from
Steve
Haggard, Joel Alan Lehman & The Nashville All-Stars, and a lot
more.
So check back with us
often.
