| Greetings
from Oat Central in Nashville. It's hot.
Excellent
news: It's Time, the long-awaited
Wild Oats Records debut CD of
Michael
Jay Cresswell (a very original, truly first-rate
singer, songwriter and
keyboard
player from England, but who currently lives in France) has been
released
at
last. "MJC" was here in Nashville recently, doing live
shows and
radio
spots to promote the CD.
And the
brand-new,
much-anticipated,
Kenny McGeorge
CD,
"Go All In",
is now
available. It features
12
of Kenny's
top-notch
original
songs,
Steve
Haggard produced both the Michael Jay Cresswell
& Kenny McGeorge
CDs
at Oat Central, with recording engineer
Andrew
Hooker at the console.
Meanwhile,
Kimberly
King is about to return
to the studio to continue work
on her
new CD.
Recording on the album was delayed by her auto accident
awhile
back, but she's ready to go.
What's already been done on the project
sounds
great, and we foresee a September
release for the as-yet-untitled CD.
We're
very pleased to report that the 5th Annual Wild Oats Records Croquet
Tournament,
Horseshoes Fest, Drinkathon, Cookout & Jam Session,
held in
June,
was a great success. A grand time
was had by all.
Late
July was busy at the ol' studio. Steve Haggard and Andrew Hooker
worked
on projects for the local band The Interviews,
and South Carolina
country
artist Eddie Rogers.
West Virginia singer/songwriter Wildwood will
be recording
at Oat Central beginning August 3rd.
Singer/songwriter
April Smith Hogue, was in from California
awhile back,
doing
her first recording session for Team Oat.
And another
new addition to
the
Wild Oats Records family, David Bates,
was
in town
from Virginia cutting two excellent originals with producer
Haggard
and
engineer
Hooker.
Bates is a very talented singer and songwriter.
A reminder:
our acclaimed monthly Oat Songwriter Showcase,
is held on
the
second
Wednesday of every month at the Commodore
Grille here in
Nashville.
The "Oatcase"
is now in its sixth year.

Speaking
of the showcase,
Garry Jackson,
one our label's mainstays, played
at the
July "OSS".
His current Oat CD is the fine Something's Got A Hold On
Me,
and he's working on his next CD with producer Steve
Haggard.
And speaking
of Steve Haggard,
his current CD, Love Conquers All, has been
getting
a great response. It's truly a first-rate
album.
Steve is keepin' busy,
as
always...
not only producing and performing,
but he is also the co-host of a
weekly
radio show here in Nashville -- more on that later -- and is currently
working
on his first book.
We're
hoping to have the live CD of Steve Haggard,
Joel Alan Lehman & The
Nashville
All-Stars ready for release by the end
of August. You can see a video
of their
stellar appearance at the Visagino festival
in Lithuania
-- where they
brought
down the house in front of a crowd of 24,000+
-- by
clicking here.
Last
but not least, we mentioned a radio show earlier. Well, it's none other
than
The
Haggard & King Radio Hour, co-hosted
by our own Steve Haggard
and
Kimberly King. Their show is broadcast every
Tuesday afternoon from
4:00-5:00
PM, Central Time. You can listen to the program live in streaming
audio
at www.radiofreenashville.org
by clicking the Listen Online link at the
right-hand
side of the page.) In and around Nashville, the show is broadcast
on Radio
Free Nashville
/ 107.1 FM.
That's
it until next time !! May all your oats be wild !!
